Description

Hornady Precision Hunter Rifle Ammo delivers match-grade accuracy with a high-tech, expanding hunting bullet—the ELD-X™ (Extremely Low Drag eXpanding). ELD-X™ bullets have extremely high ballistic coefficients, secant ogives, and a boattail design for an exceedingly streamlined and aerodynamic shape to reduce air drag, minimizing bullet drop and wind drift. To counter the effect of heat deformation to the polymer tips, Hornady developed the Heat Shield™ tip, made from heat-resistant polymer, which maintains the bullet’s aerodynamics for ultimate accuracy. ELD-X Rifle Bullets have a thin jacket at the tip to initiate expansion, and a thicker jacket at the base that is combined with an Interlock® ring to keep the core and jacket together to control expansion for optimum weight retention and deep penetration. Hornady Precision Hunter Rifle Ammo is made to deliver consistent ignition over a wide range of temperature extremes, and devastating terminal performance well beyond 400 yards.

  1. Liffan cury

Shot multiple 1/2″ groups during break in of a Savage model 10T. All fit the magazine and had no feed problems. Wasn’t able to shoot over a crony, but the drop out to 400 yds would suggest 2750 FPS. Slammed a whitetail at 325, although the bullet was not recovered it did its job and left a decent exit hole and plenty of blood. I’m not in a hurry to reload for this caliber with factory ammo like this available and on sale.

  2. Steve botman

The best and most consistent factory round i have ever shot.

  3. Edouard menes

I would buy this product again

  4. Kenneth bellenger

These are my favorite bullets I shoot 1200 yards with these out of a factory Remington 700 with a 20″ barrel

  5. Julien Smith

Not the flatest flight but deadly impact on any sized Whitetail . Perfectly accurate out of my C.Z. Americans 24″ barrel with 3 round groups a hair over and a hair under a half inch .

  6. Hermana duval

My wife continued her love affair with her Kimber Hunter 6.5 CM using Hornady 143 gr ELD-X load on an impressive 7×7 bull. With a solid rest and about 100 yd distance she double lunged this brute which made it about 30 yds before toppling over. We have used this ammo on mulies, antelope and elk with great success. Whitetails don’t fare any better, either. This is good stuff. I don’t believe there is any better to be found. Oh, the bullet was not recovered, complete pass thru.

  7. William Musk

5 stars so far. Have not used on game yet but stacks them tight at 100 yards when I get my breathing right at the shot.

  8. James Freeman

I have used this ammo from white tail deer in Georgia to mule deer, elk and pronghorn in Wyoming and never had any problems taking game to 400yards with one shot.

  9. Gluck Herman

My 6.5 Creedmoor Christensen Arms Ridgeline Bolt Action Rifle loves these rounds. Holding less than 1 MOA at 200 yards. I tried several brands and different grains but this ammo out preformed them all. This is the only ammo I’ll purchase for this rifle.

  10. David soler

These are my favorite bullets I shoot 1200 yards with these out of a factory Remington 700 with a 20″ barrel

  11. Jack bellenger

Not the flatest flight but deadly impact on any sized Whitetail . Perfectly accurate out of my C.Z. Americans 24″ barrel with 3 round groups a hair over and a hair under a half inch .

  12. Calle Hayden

5 stars so far. Have not used on game yet but stacks them tight at 100 yards when I get my breathing right at the shot.

  13. Joel mckenna

I have tested it rigorously on feral pigs and deer out to 200 yards, and it is lethal. Great exit wounds and blood trail, though I haven’t needed to follow one very much. It puts them right down. Very accurate too, I use this in a bunch of calibers, and it is sub moa in everything. In my Ruger Hawkeye Predator 6.5, it groups between .5-.75″ at 100. It is expensive, but well worth it.

  14. Jude mckenie

In my Kimber Open Country this cartridge produces sub MOA performance. I’m a reloader but have never felt the need to load for this rifle. On Whitetail at 100 to 150 yards I’ve had excellent performance.

  15. Stevens boutman

Best ammo out of 6 varieties as i sighted in my new tikka3x in 6.5. 3/8 inch group at 100 yards. Excited to use it hunting this season

  16. Brahim Laffont

I initially bought this product because I like the ELDX bullets. When siding it in in my compass rifle I consistently got three-quarter inch groups or less. Last season two shots got me too nice Whitetail buck.I do recommend this to anyone that wants good performance and accuracy.
